Dr Wong obtained his medical degree from the University of Melbourne and undertook clinical cardiology training at the Austin, Alfred and Royal Melbourne Hospitals. His PhD research described novel findings on predictors, mechanisms and new epicardial ablation techniques for lethal cardiac arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death.
This novel work has won numerous local, national and international Young Investigator Awards including the prestigious Ralph Reader prize from the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand/World Congress of Cardiology and the National Heart Foundation Paul Korner Innovation Award.
Dr Wong is currently Head of Cardiac Electrophysiology & Devices at Western Health and is a sessional Cardiac Electrophysiologist at Eastern Health. His interests are in device implantation (transvenous/leadless pacemakers, transvenous/subcutaneous defibrillators and CRT) and treatment of complex atrial and ventricular arrhythmias using contemporary electrophysiology catheter ablation techniques. Dr Wong is happy to take referrals across the broad spectrum of cardiac conditions and also offers consultations in Cantonese and Mandarin.
